The University Archive of Granada conserves a photographic collection of more than 10.000 photographs, which represent and illustrate the most varied aspects of university life.
The photographs are preserved in optimal conditions, using materials suitable for this purpose. The images are described in the Archive's computer system and are available in the Archive's online catalogue, ARCHERO. The description follows the rules of the ISAD(G) format, specially adapted for photographic collections.
As for the subject matter covered by the photographs, they include institutional events, facilities, sporting events, and even scenes related to primary and secondary schools, in which the University was responsible for quite some time.
The AUG has developed a series of virtual exhibitions to showcase at least part of this rich collection.
